Hey friends! Today’s prompt in my October Blogging Challenge is a Flashback Friday! I’ve chosen a couple pictures from the past to share with you guys today. I don’t know about you guys, but I get super annoyed when I see #FlashbackFriday or #ThrowbackThursday on instagram or wherever else, and their ‘throwback’ is their lunch last week. Seriously? I made up my mind that all of my throwbacks must be older than 6 months, preferably even older than a year. No one cared what you ate for lunch last week, and they don’t care this week. Sharing a picture from 2 years ago? That’s cool, real change has happened since that. #tbt and #fbf that all you want. Rant over :)
Best guess of my age in this picture is 2 and 1/2 or 3 years old. I remember my mom telling me that this was one of her favorite outfits to put me in when I was younger. I think I recognize the background as part of a park that was by our old house in Fort Worth. A picture of me from before 2000, wow!
So this one was taken outside my grandmother’s house, I know for sure! I recognize the tree as one that sits off the sidewalk and has been growing into the street since I can remember. The braces places the picture at 6th or 7th grade for me, so I was maybe 12 or 13? That makes my younger brother 6 or 7. Most of the days we visited my grandma we were helping out with chores around her house, but we’re ‘dressed up’ in this picture. Best guess? This picture was taken on Thanksgiving of 2006. Friends, this picture was taken 3 years ago today! I was 17 at the time, and was taking part in an October Photoaday Challenge. The prompt that day was holding hands, so after taking my little brother to the library (where this picture was taken) I bribed him with ice cream. More than a couple timed photos later, we finally got the shot!
My love! So this picture was taken on, you guessed it, March 14th of 2015! Fun fact: This was taken the weekend that my friend came down from A&M to visit and we ended up at two frat parties in one night. Needless to say, I was feeling it the next morning. Yes friends, this is the day I texted my mom about way back when. So, I wasn’t feeling well, plus I’m not the biggest fan of this particular friend of Jacob’s, so I was very reluctant to go. But, nonetheless, we went, and if nothing else we got a nice Polaroid out of it.
What a great #flashbackfriday, friends! What are some of your favorite memories to look back on?
